The Global Text Project

INTERNATIONAL VIDEO CONFERENCE

The Global Text Project plans to create a free library of 1,000 electronic texts for students in the developing world. The library will cover the range of topics typically encountered in the first few years of university undergraduate programmes. The global academic community and global corporations will be engaged in creating and sponsoring this library.

The Project will seek participation from student communities in the development and continuous evolution of the text. These books should never be out-of-date because they will be subject to continuous improvement. Each class using one of the books will be asked to add value to the book. They should leave a better book for the next class.

Richard Watson co-leads the Global Text Project. He is also the J. Rex Fuqua Distinguished Chair for Internet Strategy in the Department of MIS at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business.

For more information contact Simon Holloway, Conference Officer, National Institute for Excellence in the Creative Industries, Bangor University: simon.holloway@bangor.ac.uk
